Q's card

Q’s card

I used this challenge to make a birthday card for a friend – it’s almost her birthday so I think it’s safe to post it here :).

The base card is an 8×8 and I used a Borderability Die to make the ‘scalloped’ edge as shown in the sketch. The large layer is made from some greeny-gold paper which I embossed with an extendable die and rounded the corners, the next is cut from butterfly vellum. The flower and butterfly are cut from left-over card from the 12×12 green base layer and coloured with purple ink while still in the dies. A bit of gold glitter, some gold peel-off borders and some pale green ribbon finished it off.

The white dots on the vellum are the adhesive! I thought it wouldn't show...but I was wrong. It's actually quite a nice effect, thankfully.

This shows the detail of the first, large layer and a truer idea of the colour.
