On the DoCraft Forum there is a weekly challenge – this is my first attempt at it. The sketch was for a square card with two squares and a circle on it plus a sentiment. The card was cut down from cream A4 textured card (and the remnant used below) and coloured round the edges with a blue ink pad. The dark blue square has small flowers stamped on with a beige ink and then two layers of blue vellum overstamped with cream flowers and blue star clusters.
I made the circle by cutting it from the ‘caught in crystal’ piece I made last week (see post labelled Playtime) and there’s a close-up of that part below. I used my Carol’s Cube Daisy stamp on the remnant of card with a blue Kaleidescope stamp, stamped it twice and punched one out with a Fiskars Circle punch and coloured round the edge with a purple ink then cut the other round all the petals. I then curled them by cupping my hand and pressing lightly and using my thumbnail to shape them. Stuck on with glue dots and a crystal button added for the centre.
Thank You was stamped with the same ink on the cream card and layered with some of the dark blue, all corners rounded. I used a little glue to attach the vellum to the blue card just behind where the circle was going and then anchored everything with eyelets.
