Easel Cards seem very popular at the moment and I can quite see why. A regular card takes on a whole new aspect when they’re opened and stood in a different way to the norm. This sympathy card was made for a friend who’s recently lost her father – there’s not really anything one can say at such a time so I feel it’s nice for them just to know they’re in your thoughts.
My Eyelet Square Nestabilities had just arrived so I had to try them out! As you can see I threaded lilac ribbon through the holes and used the punched-out dots on the second layer. I rounded them with a large embossing tool on a soft mat and glued them in place adding ‘jewels’ at the corners.
The ‘button’ to hold the front of the card in place was cut with another die which I mounted onto DSST and sprinkled with Bedazzles before layering onto another small square die-cut piece of card. The centre piece I added to the sentiment in one corner just to tie it all together.
