So, I was asked to make a special birthday card for a lady of a certain age and I decided to use one of these cute Flippin stamps (I’ve got the whole set of sixteen, male & female – such fun designs).
The base card is a tri-fold which had the large circle aperture already cut out of the front. I re-cut both the front and the folded-back panel with a Grand Nestie of almost the same size so that the design could be seen front and back. The front and back large images were stamped onto white card, coloured with ProMarkers and then cut out with an oval nestability and the edges sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink whilst still in the die – this leaves that lovely white edge all around the oval. These were then glued back-to-back over the acetate which is sandwiched between the circle openings. I sort of like the oval with the circle 😆 .
The border design of champagne bottles and glasses was stamped along the bottom edge and a few of the words from the set stamped inside around some die-cut cocktails. I have the choice of a couple of sentiments to add to the front when my friend tells me which one she likes best; one’s an oval, the other a circle with the name and date of the lady whose birthday it is. I’ll glue whichever one she chooses into place when she collects it.
