Michael Strong has challenged his Yahoo group again, this time with a snippet of a design which we had to use with only grey, black or white (and a little silver if you wanted) to match the weather in his home city, San Diego.
The image to download was this line-art floral ‘thing’ which I looked at for ages without any inspiration until just before the deadline :). I printed it out in several different sizes, took it upstairs to my craft room – stared at that piece of paper some more – and then came up with the card you see at the right.
A simple design really but made easily with Perfect Layers which allowed me to make all those different layers neatly and simply.
The image on the white paper was stuck to some shiny black card and cut with a 1/8″ border; these were attached to grey card and again cut with the same width border; then onto more of the shiny black this time cut with a 1/16″ border. The tools were used again to line up the panels on top of a piece of grey card I’d embossed with a Grand Impressability.
I had a little of the black card left over so cut them to peep out of two opposite corners and then added the 3 black studs for interest. The centre panel has some black rhinestones on some of the blobs and stickles on other blobs just for a bit more interest and texture :).
