The theme for a competition I entered was ‘Cinderella’ – my take on it didn’t win any prizes! I do love the grid technique though. I don’t have any ‘girly’ stamps so didn’t have anything that looked like the cartoon character herself but I thought that the running horse, timepiece, shoe and the girl looking around hurriedly might convey the idea.
This was done using a post-it cut into a triangle instead of the usual straight-cut piece of paper. The cards labelled ‘Thanks’, ‘Honda GoldWing’ and ‘For my old friend’ were all printed on photo card on an inkjet printer, embossed while the ink was still wet and then gridded as normal. The ‘Xmas Star’ and ‘Xmas Baubles’ are raised on 3D foam pads to add dimension.

It seems we learn so many new things that we forget about using the ‘older’ stuff – I do still love this technique and yet somehow feel I shouldn’t keep using it! Don’t know why, they are all different so it doesn’t really matter that I’m using the same idea.
