… the title of the November challenge set by Michael Strong. This month has just seen Thanksgiving Day – which, of course, we don’t celebrate here in the UK – and we’re not used to ‘giving thanks’ the same way our US cousins are. I admit I found this quite a difficult challenge indeed. The stipulations: “You will fill in the blank. You must use at least one rubber stamp image although not necessarily a MSRS, and please use Autumn colors”.

I’ll add some close-ups below, please click on the thumbnail to read the descriptions.

A little bit corny I know but actually true :). I printed the words and the frame and then stamped the eyes in the space I'd created. I fussy-cut around the piece, layered it on some dark brown/gold paper and cut around it again.

I printed the 'sentiment' onto a couple of leaves and fussy-cut those out too - it's a little hard to read but you *can* see it in real life.

This is a small, clear stamp which has the word 'Visage' under the eyes - I just masked the word before stamping. I cut several filigree shapes and layered them before having them peep out behind the decorative-edged rectangle (cut with a Nestie).

I stamped the large Lily (MSRS) on some designer paper and cut it out with an oval Nestie - layered on a larger oval cut in the same brown/gold paper used elsewhere. I then coloured the flower and leaves with ProMarkers and highlighted with gold glitter glue.

I apologise for the glare but it does show you the shine made by the triple embossing. I stamped the Lily Background onto plain card and coloured it with various Distress Inks before embossing.
