The Michael Strong sketch for November prompted me to try yet another technique I’d found through Beate at Splitcoast Stampers and I made it into a Christmas Card for my stash – I’ve made a start on the ones for next year as I seem to have been unable to stop producing this year! 🙂
I started with a plain card base cut from an A4 taupe pearlescent card and used a piece of double-sided 12×12 xmas cardstock for the main elements. Spotty on one side and striped on the other I cut a plain circle on the spotty and a scalloped one on the striped. The plain circle was embossed while still in the die and then both were cut in half to form the semi-circle shapes. A piece of green sparkle card and an off-cut of the taupe pearlescent were both embossed with the same folder. I layered both the sparkle and the taupe onto a piece of the striped card and adhered them all as shown.
The trees were made from a plain-circle and an eyelet-circle Nestie. The plain ones were folded in two different directions (the spots uppermost for one, the stripes for the second) and all were dotted with gold glitter glue before sticking to the middle with 3D foam pads for a little added dimension.
