The current challenge at the “Enjoy Michael Strong Stamps” Yahoo Group is to make a card using the colours of the German flag. The use of one of his stamps is not mandatory this time but the colours red, black and gold just shouted ‘oriental’ to me and so I decided to use the Michael Strong Cloisonné Kimono.
The basic black card is a gate-fold with shiny gold paper glued to the ‘gates’. I scored some lines to one side of each panel just for interest and then stamped the kimono on the red card with black ink, embossed with clear powder and layered it onto a black die-cut layer. This was again layered onto another, larger red die-cut which was edged with a gold marker.
The card needed ‘something’ so I looked for corners – unfortunately I didn’t have any the right colour so I used pink ones and coloured them with a black Pro-Marker and then dotted them with gold glitter paint.
Sorry the photos are not great – it’s very hard to shoot shiny paper :).
