Ruby Anniversary

Ruby Anniversary

A couple (obviously!) of very dear friends celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary in December so I made them a ‘lovey-dovey‘ card :). I’ve only one photo to show here but there’s more information on the following photographs describing the processes involved for ‘Technique Thursday’ – the second heart features Burnished Velvet Glitter.

I still don’t have the Michael Strong Cloisonné Heart 🙄  so I had to stamp other images and die-cut the hearts out of acetate. I used Staz-on ink for the acetate and then decorated the back of them with glitter.

On the reverse of the acetate die-cut I applied glue to the 3 small hearts and used red glitter to make them stand out from the rest

Mini hearts

After the red glitter had dried I applied glue over the whole back and sprinkled with purple,

This time the acetate was stuck to double-sided adhesive sheets and then die-cut, I randomly scored the backing paper so I could remove individual pieces

Second type

Pink glitter was sprinkled over the first exposed adhesive

Glittering

This shows what the front of the heart looks like after its first glittering

Front and Back

The glitter has to be rubbed-in with your finger after sprinkling, it can then be immediately shaken off and the next piece of backing paper removed ready for the next colour

Close up

The finished heart has three different colours of glitter
