MojoMonday 77

MojoMonday 77

The challenge for this week can be seen at Mojo Monday – I think I will send this one to my sister as a thank you card. The main card base is a heavy, dark green textured card folded in half and stamped in red ink with a small, art deco stamp; an extra piece of the same was wrapped in a pretty silver...

Faces

Faces

Some time ago I was challenged to use ‘face stamps’ in a variety of ways. This one is a stamp from Rubbadubadoo, it was inked just once and therefore the images get more faded. I tore the paper round the three faces, coloured the edges with a darker shade of purple than the cardstock and...

Mojo Monday 76

Mojo Monday 76

This is my first attempt at a Mojo Monday Challenge – until this week I had never tried following a ‘sketch’ and now I’ve done two!  (The other one is called Challenge43 and is a DoCraft Forum one.) So, I made the basic card out of some heavy blue cardstock, trimmed down a little...

Challenge43

Challenge43

On the DoCraft Forum there is a weekly challenge – this is my first attempt at it.  The sketch was for a square card with two squares and a circle on it plus a sentiment. The card was cut down from cream A4 textured card (and the remnant used below) and coloured round the edges with a blue ink pad....

Rubberband backing

Rubberband backing

I recently read about using rubberbands to make an interesting background so thought I’d have a go. The bands were various thicknesses and I wrapped them around an acrylic block which I then inked-up using a Versamark embossing pad. I sprinkled silver on the left-hand one and blue on the right...

Playtime

Playtime

What a great evening we’ve just had! I invited a good friend of mine, Janet, to come play in my craftroom and also asked CarolineB (from the DoCraft Forum) to join us. We’ve never met Caroline before but have ‘spoken’ via email – she lives about 1/2 mile up the road from...

Grid Technique

Grid Technique

The theme for a competition I entered was ‘Cinderella’ – my take on it didn’t win any prizes! I do love the grid technique though. I don’t have any ‘girly’ stamps so didn’t have anything that looked like the cartoon character herself but I thought that...

Spotlighting

Spotlighting

This is such a lovely idea to use when you’ve got a ‘busy’ stamped image. This is another Non Sequitur stamp, from one of their oriental plates. The image is stamped twice, here onto glossy card, and embossed with a clear powder. One of the images is then mounted onto the card blank...

Faux Layering

Faux Layering

This is a technique I taught to my stamping club friends. It involves an aperture cut in acetate, sponges, various inks and outlines to make the flat image look like several layers on top of each other.

SweetPea

SweetPea

I’ve been card making for many years now, lately I’ve been more into papercrafts but I did used to embroider everything – including most of my cards. The sweetpeas on this one were for one of my sisters who grows the most wonderful sweetpeas in her greenhouse every year. They smell...
